JWD is a spin off from JPP or Janazah Preparation Plan, a plan that was backed by Aegon Transamerica and that permitted Muslims to get burial insurance for as little as $8.53 per month, depending on age, gender and other factors. With more years of knowledge and wisdom and based upon market trends and experience, we have evolved to what JWD purports today. Ibn ‘Umar (ra) reports: “I came to the Prophet (saws) and I was the tenth of the first ten people (who embraced Islam). A man from among the Ansar got up and said, “O Prophet of Allah, who is the most sagacious and most prudent among the people?” He (rasoolullah [saws]) replied, “Those who are most aware of death and prepare themselves for it. They are the wisest of people and will have honor in this world and a generous reward in the Hereafter.” Narrated by At-Tabarani.
